Weakness is Not a Human Trait

Author: Lance Winslow

Contrary to popular belief these days weakness is not a human trait and it certainly is not an American Trait, until now. With all the political correctness, why you would swear that being a wimp is in vogue. With all the weakness going on in the United States, it is no wonder that the rest of the World is predicting our demise.

In fact if you read between the headlines and stories in the World media it is beginning to appear that the predictions are in; soon the Great United States of America will become second and then third amongst nations to the up and coming rising stars of China and India.

All due to the arrogance and inner weakness of those who wish to have it all without planting and harvesting or even baking the bread; that somehow life in America is an entitlement; that we deserve to live in the greatest nation and civilization on the planet. A country, which is at the top of that top tier in the History of the species and one that we should automatically expect to fulfill our every whim without the necessary steps to make it so, keep it this way or grow it into the Utopia we all seek.

We cannot continue to deny our mediocrity any longer, nor can we afford to fail to acknowledge the dirt we sweep under our carpet. We must not plague our country with over regulation of free markets or over lawyer our citizens, small businesses or public sector contrary to the reality of our observations.

Continuing on such a path will not lead us to our destiny or provide us with our individual pursuits of happiness. The road we are on is a dead end, a highway on a long downward slope to a page in a future history book, where there at the bottom in a small footnote it lists the United States of America as a great experiment and a promising Republic that once was.

Quite frankly that is not good enough for me. So either you care about the future of the nation or you dont; that is to say you are either with us or you are not. The time has come to make a stand and dump the persnickety complaints, to look in the mirror and say to yourself; what do you do for your country today to keep the ball in play. Think on this in 2006.
